The balls of sausage are pretty small, but this dish is loaded with them, and the bacon bits are larger than we expected. The sweetness works especially well with the bacon and sausage.Īnd Deour wasn’t stingy on the meat here. We were thinking this would be a savory gravy (the box even suggests this), yet what we found was a sweet, mapley sauce that blew our minds. This gravy is nothing like what we expected, but it is astonishingly good. Even so, they’re not soggy or chewy enough to really ruin the texture - in fact, they still manage to be just a little bit dry on the inside. These are buried in a delicious gravy, which means they wouldn’t avoid a little sogginess no matter how you cooked them. Now, the biscuits don’t come out perfect - they are a bit soggy - but that doesn’t really matter here. However, we trust Devour enough to listen to them on this, so we followed the directions to the letter. Heating biscuits in the microwave sounds like it can only be a disaster. It’s fast to cook, but the microwave-only thing made us a little nervous. This meal is meant to be heated in the microwave. The first meal from the All Day Breakfast line that we’re trying is the Devour Biscuits, Bacon & Creamy Sausage Gravy. These frozen meals are designed to give you diner-style breakfast options that you can enjoy at any time of day. So you can imagine our joy at the discovery of Devour’s new All Day Breakfast line. Well, not quite, but we do get pretty happy. So every time we find a Devour meal that we haven’t tried, a chorus of angels sings and a ray of light pierces the ceiling to illuminate the freezer aisle in a heavenly glow. We especially love their Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese - it’s one of our favorite things we’ve reviewed here. We do have to admit that they’ve had some major misses in their lineup (their dry mac and cheese options are pretty bad), yet almost everything they make is delicious. Devour has long been one of our favorite makers of frozen food.
